Technical Architecture & Performance
Seetrol bypasses firewalls and NAT by using persistent outbound connections instead of inbound ones. Both the technician and customer devices dial outbound to the Seetrol relay (control) server, which pairs the two sessions using NAT-traversal techniques (STUN/TURN principles). No port forwarding, public IP, or router firewall change is required on either side.
VPP82 is a remote-control engine developed in-house by Seetrol that combines the VP8 video codec with direct P2P (peer-to-peer) communication technology. Instead of relying on a third-party stack, Seetrol built its own engine core, fusing efficient VP8 encoding with peer-to-peer transmission to deliver smooth screen refresh rates up to 60fps while keeping CPU usage low and network bandwidth consumption minimal.
During the session handshake, Seetrol attempts peer-to-peer (P2P) hole punching to open a direct device-to-device tunnel for the lowest possible latency. If strict firewall or symmetric NAT policies block the direct link, Seetrol automatically falls back to relaying the encrypted stream through the local Seetrol server, so a connection is never simply refused.
On local networks and high-speed enterprise WANs, Seetrol MY achieves file transfer rates up to 90Mbps, and up to 1Gbps on Seetrol DESK. These speeds let engineers push large software patches, images, and log files quickly during remote maintenance.
